We pray for our world, we pray for our church, we pray for you
How can we pray for you? Better yet, what prayer can we join in prayer with you?
“And when you pray, you must not be like the hypocrites. For they love to stand and pray in the synagogues and at the street corners, that they may be seen by others. Truly, I say to you, they have received their reward. But when you pray, go into your room and shut the door and pray to your Father who is in secret. And your Father who sees in secret will reward you. “And when you pray, do not heap up empty phrases as the Gentiles do, for they think that they will be heard for their many words. Do not be like them, for your Father knows what you need before you ask him.
1 Timothy 2:1-4
First of all, then, I urge that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and thanksgivings be made for all people, for kings and all who are in high positions, that we may lead a peaceful and quiet life, godly and dignified in every way. This is good, and it is pleasing in the sight of God our Savior, who desires all people to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth.
Prayer, be it private or cooperate is an intimate conversation with God. It starts with worshiping and acknowledging God is the higher power in our lives. Next, we thank God for the things He has done for us. Then we ask for His help with our needs full knowing he will help us.
Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God.
Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours.
If you abide in me, and my words abide in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you.
1 Thessalonians 5:17 Pray without ceasing,
We pray to God knowing He knows what is best for us. We pray knowing He will answer in His perfect wisdom, not our human wisdom:
Matthew 6:9-13 Pray then like this: “Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name. Your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.
